occurred from a peasant family of Old Believers. He studied at the Stroganov School of Industrial Art (1898-1900), then in the Penza Art College. ND Seliverstov (1900-1901) KA Savitsky. In 1901 he moved to St. Petersburg, where he continued his education at the Drawing School of Princess Tenisheva Ilya Repin and DA Shcherbinovskaya. In early works was close to the symbolism. The second half of 1900's in the works of Yakovlev noticeable attraction to impressionistic manner. In subsequent years, his creative style had changed little. Worked primarily as a landscape painter.
