Born into a peasant family. Original art education in painting shop TM Rozhkova in Moscow (1898-1904). In 1906-1909 he studied at the Law and History and Philology of the People's University. In 1925, together with PI Petrovicheva, LV Tourjansky, MV Leblanom and others, became one of the founders and exponents of the "United Arts" (OBIS ). In 1930 he worked in the field of monumental paintings and murals of pavilions worked VSHV, holiday decoration of streets and squares of Moscow.

During the Great Patriotic War was in reserve military office to organize a guerrilla movement, went on a business trip to the front.

Blokhin's prominent masters of Soviet art in the first half of the twentieth century. In the early period (late 1910-s - early 1920) went through a fascination kubofuturizmom. The artistic heritage is relatively small: most of the "avant garde" work was destroyed by the artist himself, some died during the Great Patriotic War.
