he Studied at the Drawing school of the Society for the encouragement of artists (1898-1901) Я. Ф. Ционглинского, the Higher art school at the Imperial Academy of arts (1907-1916) Д. Н. Кардовского. In 1916 for his film "the lady" received the title of artist.

I Lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd, Leningrad). He painted portraits, landscapes, still lifes, genre paintings; engaged in the silhouette. After graduating from the higher art school worked under the guidance of А. Я. Головина at the Mariinsky theatre. In 1920-е worked for several years in the Department of ancient and Western European art, State Hermitage; has painted a series of portrait silhouettes of the staff of the Hermitage. During the great Patriotic war remained in the besieged Leningrad.

Participated in exhibitions of "Union of youth", contemporary painting and drawing (1918), the jubilee exhibition of fine arts (1927), 1-й citywide exhibition of fine arts (1930) in Petrograd — Leningrad, the exhibition of paintings by Moscow and Leningrad artists dedicated to the 25th-летию pedagogical activity Д. Н. Кардовского (1929) in Moscow and others. Member LOSH (1932). Held a personal exhibition in Leningrad (1972).

the author of the memoir "Shadows of the past" (1971).

Works are in several Museum collections, including the State Russian Museum, Science-исследовательском Museum of the Russian Academy of arts, and others.
