GRIBKOV Sergey

painter and graphic artist.

born in a family of merchants. In 1844 entered MUZhViZ learned from MI Scotty and AN Mokritskiy. In 1851 for the painting "Spanish woman who prays in the temple" was awarded testimonial Moscow Art Society. In 1852, for the same picture, on presentation of the school, received from IAH title neklassnogo (free) of the artist.

lived in Moscow. In 1862 he became a member of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers and active participant of exhibitions of the Society. In 1864, a picture of the "Quarrel of Ivan Ivanovich and Ivan Nikiforovich" by Nikolai Gogol won first prize in the competition MOLH.

in the 1880 - 1890 he taught in his own art studio in Moscow in the Kaluga Gate.

In 1890 traveled to Denmark, where for the church, the Laasbi painted the image of Christ.

Gribkova works are in many museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum and others.
