from a family of a railroad employee. In childhood and youth working newsmen, baker, bookbinder. General education in the labor school-commune. Graduated from the Samara Art Pedagogical College (1922). He studied at the Moscow Higher Art - Vhuteine (1923-1930) by R. Falk, I. Mashkova, AD Drevin, PP ; Konchalovsky.
