Studied in Moscow in goskinoshkole (1919-1921) А. В. Кулешова in the VKhUTEMAS — Vhuteine in the graphical Department (1922-1924) В. А. Фаворского, Н. Н. Купреянова, И. И. Нивинского, П. Я. Павлинова on the picturesque faculty (1924-1930) А. В. Шевченко. In 1930 he defended his thesis — painting "tea-picking".

he Lived in Moscow. He painted portraits, genre and thematic compositions, sketches of Nudes. In addition to oil painting he worked in the techniques of lithography, monotypes, tempera and watercolor. In 1930-х traveled through the Caucasus, Central Asia, Far East, Carpathian mountains. In the postwar years he participated in scientific expeditions, studied biology, Mineralogy, ornithology. The author of the paintings: "the Construction of a new tea factory in Chakva" (1929-1930), "Red train in Dagestan" (1932), "Collective farm market" (1936), "Partisans in the mountains" (1941-1942), "Girl of Derbent" (1954), "the return of the fishermen" (1955); autolithographs series of "Caspian" (1958-1963).

From 1926 — participated in exhibitions. The member of associations "Workshop of painters" (1926-1928), "Genesis" (1926-1930), akhr (the beginning of 1930-х; in exhibitions did not participate). Exhibited: "Russian figure for ten years of October revolution" (1927), exhibition of works of revolutionary and Soviet themes, "Socialist construction in Soviet art" (both — 1930), reporting exhibitions of works by artists, seconded to the regions of the industrial building and collective farms (1931, 1932), "the Crimea and the Caucasus — resorts of the USSR" (1931), Soviet prints (1937), "the industry of socialism" (1939), "the Landscape of our country" (1942), The "great Patriotic war" (1943) in Moscow, contemporary art (1927) in Simferopol, "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" (1932) in Leningrad, Moscow and other. Participated in many exhibitions of Soviet art abroad: in Amsterdam, Winterthur (both — 1929), Vienna, London, Berlin, Danzig, Stockholm (all — 1930), Zurich (1931), Johannesburg (1931, 1933), königsberg (1932); the international exhibitions in Philadelphia (1930), Pittsburgh (1931), Venice (1932). His personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1933, 1956).

the Works are in many Museum collections, including the State Tretyakov gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина, the State Historical Museum and others.
