Biographical details are scarce. Born in a family of hereditary honorary citizen of Moscow.

In 1885-1886 he studied at MUZHVZ as volnoslushayuschego. Lived in Moscow. In 1890 traveled to China and Japan. Summer of 1901, together with Mikhail Nesterov with creative goals visited Vologda and Solovetsky Islands. He traveled to Siberia, the Far East, visited Korea, India, Ceylon, Turkey, Arabia, Africa, the Crimea and the Caucasus. During the Russian-Turkish war was in the theater of operations.

worked primarily as a landscape artist, animal painter, turned to domestic subjects.

was a member and exhibitor of the Moscow Society of Lovers of Fine Arts and the Moscow Association of Artists (from 1899). In 1897, for the painting "Frosty Morning" won them. VP Botkin contest MOLH; in 1899 for the painting "Spring" - first prize MTX. Participated in exhibitions TPHV (1901-1911, with interruptions). Held solo exhibitions in Moscow (1904-1905, 1908, both in conjunction with IL Kalmykov). In 1915, Russia held a memorial exhibition Chirkova.

Chirkova works are in several museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
