Biographical details are scarce. He studied at the Kazan art school (1913-1918), in the Studio Н. И. Фешина. Mastered the techniques of engraving (etching, aquatint, aquatint, soft varnish, woodcut) to print workshop at Kazan art school under the guidance of Н. С. Шикалова (1919), whom he later married.

Lived in Kazan. Team member of graphic arts "Rider" (1920), the Exhibitor 1-й exhibition (1920), a participant of the eponymous graphic anthology (No. 2, 1921) and the album "Oriental ornament" (1920). Participated in 2-й art exhibition of the Soviet district of Department on Affairs of museums and protection of monuments of art and antiquities in the Soviet Kirov province (1920). A memorial exhibition was held in 1921 in Kazan.

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — State Museum of fine arts of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина in Moscow.
