he Graduated from Serafemme religious school (1905), Tambov theological Seminary (1911). Studied at the Studio of К. Ф. Юона and И. О. Дудина in Moscow (1911-1914), then — MUZHVZ (1914-1917) А. Е. Архипова, К. А. Коровина; 2-х State free art studios (1918) П. П. Кончаловского. In 1919 the Department sent OUT people's Commissariat of the Orenburg; organizer, head (until 1922) painting Studio Orenburg state free art studios.

he Lived in Moscow (1922). Regularly made creative trips around the country, traveled to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (1935). He painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits, compositions on the theme of Soviet work and life. In early works went through a fascination with cubism and sezannizmom. Author paintings: "self Portrait in Oriental robe" (1920), "still life" (1925), "the seamstress (Dressmaker)" (1926), "Komsomolskaya Pravda" (1928), "Cutting brick" (1930), "Mordvinian girl" (1934), "the Pioneers (Poetry)", "Meeting in the Kyrgyz farm" (both — 1935), "the Mountain stream" (1937), "Chaban" (1938). From 1940-х worked primarily as a landscape painter.

Since 1916 — participant of exhibitions (student's, MUZHVZ). A member and Exhibitor of the society "Genesis" (1925-1929), akhr (1930-1932). Participated in exhibitions: 1-й state exhibition of paintings in Orenburg (1921); 1-й traveling exhibition of paintings (1925; Moscow, Saratov, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia); 1-й traveling exhibition of paintings and drawings (1929), "Socialist construction in Soviet art" (1930-1931); "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" (1933), Moscow painters (1937) in Moscow; Art exhibition of paintings by contemporary local and Moscow artists in Ryazan (1925); "On the collective farms of the Middle Volga" in Samara (1934); the exhibition of socialist realism in Alma-Ате (1938) and others. Participant of the exhibition of Soviet art in Japan (1927; Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya). A member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery, Karakalpak state Museum of art. И. В. Савицкого in Nukus.
