Litvinenko studied at the Central Stroganov School of Industrial Art (1914–1917) under the guidance of F. F. Fedorovsky. She also studied at the First State Free Art Studios (1918–1920) under P. P. Konchalovsky; in 1920–1925 — at the Higher State Artistic and Technical Workshops (VKhUTEMAS) under R. R. Falk.

Litvinenko lived in Moscow. She was a member of the society ROST (1928), society of artists-activists (1928–1930), society of Moscow painters. Since 1925 she worked in the Municipal Committee of Fine Arts (Gorkom IZO); since 1930 she worked as an instructor at the National commissariat of education (Narkompros). Since 1933 she was a member of Moscow Regional Union of Soviet Artists (MOSSKh). In 1934 Litvinenko headed the second brigade of MOSSKh at the construction of Moscow metro. In 1935 she was sent on a mission at the lead factory in Chimkent.

During the World War II, Litvinenko participated in organization of the exhibition All forces for the defeat of the enemy.  After the War she worked at the exposition hall of the Union of artists of the USSR; she accompanied exhibitions to the republics of Central Asia and Kazakhstan. After arrest and shooting of his husband in 1948, Litvinenko was excluded from Moscow Regional Union of Soviet Artists (MOSSKh); she was deprived of her workshop and did not expose her works for a long time.

Litvinenko exposed her works at the exhibition Life of blinds in 1929, exhibition Metrostroy (“Metro construction”) in 1935 in Moscow, at the exhibitions of the soviet art in Vienna and Berlin in 1930 and many others. Her personal exhibition was held in Alma Ata in 1972.

Retrospective exhibition of Litvinenko was organized in Moscow in 1994.
