born in the family of the chief officer. From 1798 he studied in the class of perspective painting at IAH JF Toma de Thomon and FY Alexeev. In 1806-1807 he was awarded two small silver medals in 1808 - a large silver medal. In 1807-1808, while still a student, he worked in the Novgorod estate AA Arakcheeva Georgian, where he performed sketches of murals for the walls of the staircase. In 1809, a program now "type newly built church of the Kazan Mother of God with the circumlocution" received a gold medal and a certificate of degree 1 for the title of the class artist. He received a pension from IAH.

summer of 1812 was in the estate of AN Lvov Nikolskoe near Torzhok. In 1814, for the painting "Solemn Te Deum, the Russian clergy committed in Paris at the Place Louis XV in the presence of allied troops, as the confluence of a great nation" was awarded the title of academician. Later this work was translated into Vorob'eva Chesskim engraving.

From 1815 he taught architecture and perspective, and picturesque class IAH, initially as assistant FY Alekseyev, then, after his death in 1824, independently.

In late 1817 - early 1818 he lived in Moscow, where he was summoned for "removal" of species. Accomplished many drawings and watercolors, which he painted in the future. In 1843 he was awarded the title of Distinguished Professor.

In 1845-1846 he traveled to Italy, also visited Switzerland and Germany.

Vorobyov - one of the leading masters of landscape painting in Russia during the first half of the XIX century, the representative of the academic trend. In his works the traditions of classic landscape organically combined with romantic tendencies. The characteristic features of art Vorobiova are significant, however, the simplicity of the chosen motif, a strict pattern underlying composition, attention to lighting effects, especially at night.

Like most of his contemporaries, Vorobiev reiterated on many occasions and varied most successfully found motivation.
