From a large peasant family. Youth held in Vilna. He studied at the Vilnius Belarusian gymnasium, took painting lessons and drawing at private art school Б. Тарашкевича. Worked as a seller of Newspapers.

he Continued his education at the sculpture Department of the Vitebsk art College (1924-1927), on the picturesque faculty of the Moscow Vkhutein (1927-1930) Д. Н. Кардовского, С. В. Герасимова, А. Д. Древина.

he Lived in Moscow. Created genre scenes, portraits, landscapes. Made creative trips to Belarus (1932, 1937), Polar Ural (1933, together with the artist Л. Соловьевым and architect П. Будо). The winter of 1934 was spent at a weather station on the ridge Large Taganay in the southern Urals. In 1935 he was sent by Messham at Zlatoustovsky metallurgical plant. Carried portraits of "illustrious men" of the plant, the order of the Zlatoust Museum wrote 2 large multi-figured compositions: "the red Halt", "Team Neumann on the outskirts of Zlatoust". In 1936 he visited on a business trip in the Altai.

the Author of paintings: "Street", "Car", "Tea", "Avtodor" (all — 1930), "city by the sea" (1931), "the rider on the white horse" (1932), "Playing cards", "Playing checkers" (both — 1933), "Landscape with tree", "the Hunter with the Murzilka" (both — 1934), "Imaginary self-portrait in old age" (1935); graphic compositions (ink, pen): "Steam" (1930), "In step with the times, in the way of five", "Sea", "Look, Vanya...", "Guests" (all — 1931), "arrested Gone", "moving", "Student pedtehnikuma" (1932), "Hunter", "On the railroad. Switchman" (1930-е) and others.

From 1924 — participant of exhibitions (1-я professional exhibition section FROM Serbia in Kiev). A member of the group "13" (1930-1931), mossh (1932). Participated in exhibitions: jubilee exhibition of the USSR (1927), "Socialist construction in Soviet art" (1930-1931), young artists (1931), autumn exhibition of Moscow artists (1935), young artists to the conference of the Komsomol of the Dzerzhinsky district (1936) in Moscow; 3-й art exhibition (1929), 5-й all-Belarusian art exhibition dedicated to the XV anniversary of the great October socialist revolution (1932), "Artists of the BSSR for XV years" (1934) in Minsk; "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" in Leningrad and Moscow (1932-1933); traveling exhibition of paintings, drawings and graphics of Moscow artists in Kharkov (1932), Soviet art in Koenigsberg (1932). His personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1931), petrykaw, Moire, Minsk (1932), Zlatoust (1935), Ridder (1936).
