he Studied at the School of painting and sculpture of the Caucasian society for encouragement of fine arts in Tiflis (1908); Odessa school of art (1909-1912), where he taught Л. Д. Иорини, К. К. Костанди; in private art school Ф. Коларосси and the School of fine arts in Paris (1912-1914).

he Lived in Moscow. Worked in the field of easel sculpture; portraitist. The author of the portraits Я. М. Свердлова (1919, mask), В. И. Ленина (1924), П. В. Вильямса (1925), portrait (1926), "Komsomolskaya Pravda" (1927), А. М. Горького (1928), В. В. Маяковского (1929); compositions "Release" (1926, high relief), "harvest on the farm "Kundun (Sunrise)" (1931, high relief). In 1929 — acting Director of the State Armory of the Moscow Kremlin.

From 1925 — participated in exhibitions. A member and Exhibitor of the society of easel artists (OST; 1925-1928), Society of Russian sculptors (ORS; 1926-1931). Participated in exhibitions: art works for 10-летнему the anniversary of the October revolution (1928), "the Life of children of the Soviet Union" (1929), "Socialist construction in Soviet art" (1930), reporting of works by artists, seconded to the regions of the industrial building and collective farms (1931), "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" (1933) in Moscow. The Exhibitor of a number of exhibitions of Soviet art abroad: XVI International exhibition of art in Venice (1928),

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery.
