Biographical information about the artist scarce.

Studied at Odessa Art School, where he graduated in 1907. In the same year joined the IAH in St. Petersburg, studied under the guidance of N. Dubovsky and AA Kiselev. In 1912, for the painting "Autumn" was the title of the artist and the pensioner's right to travel abroad for two years. In 1912-1914 as a pensioner IAH lived in France and Spain.

After his return he lived in Petrograd (Leningrad). He worked primarily as a landscape painter. Participated in academic exhibitions. In 1913, exhibited his paintings at the International Art Exhibition in Munich.

After the October Revolution of 1917 changed the nature of creativity Kolesnikova.
