From the townspeople. He studied at the Kazan art school (graduated in 1911), the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture (1911-1918) and the VKhUTEMAS (1921-1922) in Petrograd in the Studio Д. Н. Кардовского. In 1918 he received the title of teacher of drawing and sketching, 1922 — the title of the artist.

Lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd, Leningrad). Wrote thematic paintings, landscapes, portraits, still lifes. Author paintings: "the Battle at the station Ekaterinburg", "the Arrest of the underground press" (1924), "Tour of red on the Baltic shipyard" (1928), "Driver lyaskovsky" (1935), "the Retreat of whites from the Sverdlovsk" (1935), "Housewives read the draft of the Stalin Constitution" (1937). On the orders of Lenisa and city Council completed work: "Clearing of the Neva river" (1923), "the Rally in the steppes of Kazakhstan" (1926), "Oil switches factory “Электроаппарат”" (1932), "the Stakhanovite (shock troops)" (1939).

Illustrated children's books for the publishing house "rainbow", "Sun and candle" Н. Я. Агнивцева (1926), "Maslenitsa" М. Андреева (1926), "Mal-малышок" О. И. Бич (1926), "bones, bugs and a microscope" Е. Я. Тараховской (1929).

From 1915 — participant of the exhibition (the Spring exhibition in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts in Petrograd). A member and Exhibitor associations: the Union of artists of Saratov (1917-1921 (?)), The Union of art workers (1919-1932), AHRR (1924-1928, Secretary), Society of artists to them. А. И. Куинджи (1926-1927), LOSH (1932). Exhibited: 6-й exhibition picturesquely-пластической culture in Saratov (1920); paintings of Petrograd artists of all directions (1923), "Graphic art in the USSR. 1917-1928" (1927), 1-й citywide exhibition of fine arts (1930), 1-й exhibition of Leningrad artists (1935) in Petrograd — Leningrad; art exhibition organized by the province political educational Council in Astrakhan (1924); exhibition of paintings by Leningrad artists in Moscow (1935); exhibition of paintings by Leningrad artists of Moscow (1935); "Ural-Кузбасс in painting" in Chelyabinsk (1936).

he Died of starvation in the besieged Leningrad. He was buried in Piskarevskoe cemetery.
