From a family of teachers in rural schools. Lived in St.-Петербурге (Petrograd — Leningrad). Mainly engaged in easel graphics; worked in the techniques of color etching, lithography, linocut. By order of the Imperial Academy of arts reproduced in etching technique picture И. Е. Репина "Zaporozhtsy writing letter to Turkish Sultan" (1917). The author of numerous portraits (В. В. Матэ, В. И. Ленина, М. И. Калинина, С. М. Кирова, И. Д. Папанина), landscapes of Leningrad and its environs, Samarkand, genre compositions.
