From a family of painters. Studied at icon-painting workshop Н. М. Сафонова in Palekh (1883-1889) П. В. Вакурова. Before 1918 работал in this workshop, painted churches of Moscow and St-Петербурга, icons were painted.

Lived in Palekh. 1926 — a member of the Palekh Artel of ancient painting. The author of the paintings on papier-маше (caskets, chests, decorative plates, plates) in literature, folklore, contemporary subjects: "Demyanova ear" (1931), "Carpet-самолет" (1932), "Emancipation of women" (1932), "Ratmir at the walls of the magic castle" (1933), "the Peasant revolt" (1934), "Oh you, Vanka, daring head" (1934), "Farewell to the red army" (1937), "harvest" (1937), "Minin" (1940), "Bylina about Volga and Mikula" (1943), "Volga — Russian river" (1943) "Moscow now" (1947), "the Tale of the dead Princess and the seven knights" (1949), "Meeting of Taras Bulba with the sons" (1950), "Sadko in the underwater Kingdom" (1950), "peddlers" (1950), "Pskovityanka" (1951).

Engaged in painting of porcelain. Participated in the painting "room of fairy tales" (Pushkin room) at the Leningrad Palace of pioneers (1936) based on the prologue to the poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila". Has created a panel: "Volga and Mikula" (1943), "Heat-птица" (1946), "Ratmir at the walls of the magic castle" (1946). The author of a number of easel paintings ("How the steel was tempered", 1947) and graphic ("Night mowing", "farm yard", "Walk forward, Komsomolskaya tribe", all — 1930-е; "people's war", "Down the Volga-реке", "Berlin", all — 1940-е) works. Together with А. И. Ватагиным and Д. Н. Буториным he completed the illustrations for the book "Tales А. С. Пушкина" (М.-Л., 1937). Was engaged in restoration of frescos of the Uspensky Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin (1946).

From 1930 — participant of exhibitions (exhibition of works of the Palekh Artel of ancient painting in Leningrad). A member of the Union of artists of the USSR (from 1934). He exposed his works at exhibitions: "Art of Palekh" (1932), "XV years of the red army" (1933), "Russian lacquer art" (1933), folk art (1937), "XX years of the red army and the Military-морского Navy" (1938), all-Union art exhibitions (1939 — "industry of socialism"; 1945 — "Heroic front and rear"), the "Great Patriotic war" (1943), works of artists of the RSFSR (1949), "Pushkin and the folk artists of the RSFSR" (1949), works of folk applied art and art industry of the RSFSR (1952) in Moscow; Regional art exhibitions in Ivanovo (1937, 1945-1946, 1947). The Exhibitor of a number of international exhibitions: in London (1933), the world exhibition in new-Йорке (1939).
