From the family of a tailor. Studied at icon-painting workshop Н. М. Сафонова (Safonova) in Palekh (1890-1896); teachers — М. И. Нефедов, П. А. Плеханов, В. И. Мазаев, И. А. Варварин. Worked in the Studio Н. М. Сафонова; worked on the murals. Participated in restoration of frescoes in the Novodevichy convent (1916), the Historical Museum in Moscow, the Holy Trinity@Laurel ndashСергиевой, kaliazin, Peterhof, the Ipatievsky monastery in Kostroma, the exterior frescoes of the assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin (1936). In 1916-1917 he was in military service.

Lived in Palekh. 1925 — a member of the Palekh Artel of ancient painting. Served as the paintings on papier-маше (boxes, beds, chests, boxes, powder boxes, cigarette cases) in literature, folklore, household stories, the author of the songs: "ENEA" (1925), "birches Holiday" (1926), "Demonstration in the village" (1927), "picking berries" (1928), "Heat-птица" (1933), "the Golden Cockerel" (1935), "Ruslan and Lyudmila" (1939), "Glory to Russian arms" (1944), "The speech of Dmitry Donskoy to fight with Mamai" (1947).

the Author of easel paintings: "Have a wife" (1925), "Execution of Pugachev" (1930), "the boyar's wedding" (1934), "Death of Susanin" (1939), "the March of Moscovitan" (1940). Participated in the decoration of palaces of pioneers in Sverdlovsk (1937), Yaroslavl (1939). Created illustrations for "fairy Tales" А. С. Пушкина (М.-Л., 1937, together with А. Н. Буториным, А. А. Дыдыкиным).

From 1928 — participant of exhibitions (exhibition of works of art to 10-летнему the anniversary of the October revolution in Moscow, 1928). Participated in exhibitions: works of Palekh Artel of ancient painting in Leningrad (1930), "the Art of Palekh" (1932), "Russian lacquer art" (1933), "XV years of the red army" (1933), Soviet illustrations to fiction 5 лет (1936), folk art (1937), all-Union art exhibition "industry of socialism" (1939), "the Great Patriotic war" (1943) in Moscow; Regional art exhibitions in Ivanovo (1937, 1945-1946). The Exhibitor of a number of exhibitions abroad: International exhibition art-декоративных arts in Paris (1925, diploma 1-й extent), the world exhibition in Paris (1937, diploma of honour for the song "Sadko").

he Taught at the Palekh art school (1928-1947).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery, the Museum of decorative-прикладного and folk arts in Moscow, State Russian Museum, Russian Museum А. С. Пушкина in St-Петербурге, Ivanovo regional art Museum, State Museum of Palekh art in Palekh.
