Participated in the exhibitions "No. 4 (exhibition of paintings: the futurists, radiant, primitives" (1914), "World of art" (1917), society "Pearl sunshine" (1917), 5-й state exhibition of paintings (1918 / 1919) in Moscow.

Worked in gakhn under the leadership А. В. Бакушинского (second half of the 1920s-х), at the Department of fine arts Institute of Artistic education of the Academy of pedagogical Sciences (1930-е). He taught at the Central House of artistic education of children (1930-е). Participated in the organization of the international exhibition of children's drawing (Moscow, 1934). The initiator of creation of Museum of children's drawings.

Author of textbooks: "To help young artists. Collection of problems in painting," (М.-Л., 1938), "drawing Lessons in elementary school" (M., 1961; together with Г. А. Назаревской, Е. Е. Рожковой), the monograph "Fine art of children" (M., 1965).
