the Son of the painter Karl Bogdanovich Venig; nephew of Bogdan Bogdanovich Venig, the younger brother of artists Gregory and Alexander Unigov. He studied in St. Petersburg in the gymnasium К. Мая where he received his primary art education under the guidance of his father; in the Imperial Academy of arts (1887-1893) in the class of historical painting as a volunteer at Б. П. Виллевальде, П. П. Чистякова. Was awarded two small (1889) and two large (1890, 1891) silver medals. A student from-за infectious diseases lost her hearing and not able to complete the Academy course of science. In 1898 he received the title of artist.

Lived in St.-Петербурге (Petrograd, Leningrad). Has made repeated trips to the Crimea, to Ukraine, to Italy. Performed works on historical, biblical, allegorical subjects, genre paintings, portraits, landscapes. Many worked in watercolor technique. Author paintings: "Esther before Ahasuerus" (1891), "Jesus Christ cast out of the temple selling" (1892), "the Revolt of dissenters in Moscow under the tsars Peter and John" (1892), "Chained Prometheus" (1892), "Peasant children. Hayfield", "Satisfied", "Not it" (all — 1899), "the Birthday girl" (1900), "Grandpa, save me" (1902), "Funeral in the village" (1906), "Gentleman", "the market" (both — 1908), "will?" (1909), "the Strictest neutrality" (1900-е), "the Believers prayer" (1900-е), "self-Portrait" (1913), "Date", "Tired" (1914). The work was published in magazine "Niva", published in the form of open letters.

Executed designs for stained glass Windows for the Church of the Twelve apostles in St. John monastery in St. Petersburg (early 1900s-х).

From 1893 — participated in exhibitions. A member and Exhibitor companies: "Mossanovski Mondays"-Петербургского (Petrograd) society of artists (1897-1900, 1902-1908, 1910, 1912, 1913, 1915, 1917, 1918), the Society of Russian watercolorists (1900, 1901, 1902), Society of teachers of drawing. Exhibited 1-й State free exhibition of works of art in Petrograd (1919).

he Taught drawing at the Smolny Institute and the Alexander institutes, a school for the deaf in St. Petersburg.
