he Studied at the Drawing school of the Society for the encouragement of arts (the first half 1860-х) А. Е. Бейдемана, И. Н. Крамского, П. П. Чистякова. In 1862 for his painting "the Poor" and in 1864 the mother's portrait and the painting "the girl at the lesson" ("Preparation for lessons") were awarded small silver medals. In 1869, for the painting "Interrupted divination" received the title neklassnogo (free) artist.

I Lived in St. Petersburg. Worked as a genre painter, portraitist. A member and Exhibitor of the First ladies ' art circle. Participated in academic fairs, exhibitions of the Society of Russian watercolors, St.-Петербургского society of artists.

he Taught at the Drawing school of the OPH (1869-1874). The author of the memories of И. Н. Крамском (in kN.: "Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoy". St. Petersburg, 1888). Was among the first donors to create art gallery at home of archaeology in Ostrogozhsk.

Work is represented in several Museum collections, including the Pushkin Museum to them. А. С. Пушкина State Museum А. С. Пушкина (literary) and others.
