the Nephew of the sculptor М. М. Антокольского. He graduated from the Vilna school of drawing. He studied at the Imperial Academy of arts (1891) — Higher art Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture at IAH (1893-1900) in the Studio И. Е. Репина. For the painting "the Interrogation of the Inquisitor", "Salome in the feast of Herod" received the title of artist.

he Lived in Vilna (1900-1912), Moscow (1912). Author of historical and genre compositions, landscapes, portraits. In 1903-1904 by the order of "Moscow Bureau of technology" has created a series of images of biblical characters for postcards published by the printing house Г. Ламберта. 1910-х was engaged in monumental painting; completed the painting of the cinema "Odeon", "Modern" (in hotel "Metropol"). In 1923 участвовал in the painting of the pavilions VSHV. Developed the project of complex coloring pages districts of Moscow (1929).

Participant 2-го all-Russian Congress of artists (1911). Deputy editor and Illustrator of the magazine "Painting the case" (1930-1932). The author of the manual: "Handbook of paint sprayer" (М.-Л., 1933). Was friendly and was in correspondence with Н. К. Рерихом.

From 1903 — participated in exhibitions. Member of-учредитель, member of the Board of the Vilna arts society (1908-1912);, a member of the Vilna art-промышленного society in memory М. М. Антокольского (1904-1912, Secretary); was a member and Exhibitor of the Jewish society for the encouragement of arts (1915-1919), society of artists to them. Exhibited at the Spring exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1903, 1904, 1907, 1910) in St. Petersburg; 2-й exhibition of the Union of artists-живописцев (1918) in Moscow.

he Taught drawing at schools in Vilna (1900-е — start 1910-х); was led by the Vilna art and drawing classes-промышленного society in memory М. М. Антокольского (1904-1912); among students — Л. Сегал. He also published articles on art, reviews of exhibitions at the Vilnius newspaper "the North-западный voice."
