In the history of science, he entered as the inventor of the contraceptive pill and one of the developers of cortisone. Dzherassi known not only as an outstanding pharmacist, but as a collector of Klee. Collecting his Dzherassi Carl began back in 1960, along with the works of Degas, Giacometti, Picasso and Dyubyuffe. After the suicide-daughter artist Dzherassi sold the entire collection, spending money in support of living authors. The exception was the only Klee, which he kept intact.
