Top-tendering will lead canvas by Gerhard Richter (b. 1932) «1025 shades», which is put up for auction from a private European collection for the first time since its inception in 1974 (estimeyt 1,3-2 million lb). When in 2007, Richter received a grant to create a stained-glass window for Cologne Cathedral, he went to work with an image of colored rectangles, which were established by it from 1966 to 1974. According to critics, this time the artist was one of the most fruitful and significant. Cloth, displayed at the June auction, refers to a series of works of this period, which is called the Richter «culmination». This is one of the four series of paintings, in which 1025 is shown colored rectangles (formerly Richter believed that the maximum number of colors that are able to discern the human eye is 1024).
