Auction "Gelos". Results of the "Big Friday"
unlike exotic "Auction at the auction," "Big Friday" — is a regular auction "Gelos". That is quite revealing, without the discount on impaired range — so interesting. It is possible to understand the pulse of the market: would the people there are actively trading that generally buy.
Directly on the points to begin. To the discovery, by two o'clock, in the hall there were about 25 people. In the course of trades people continued to come, and soon gathered about 35 people, almost a full house, places no longer suffice. "Gelos" sold about 800 lots. As usual in telegraphic style, with stops just waiting for the phones, if tied what-то struggle. If what happened-то pads on the phone, a lot could go back and permanganate even after the fall of the hammer. A couple of times on this issue was heard in the hall discontent, but the auctioneer was unfazed, making it clear that corrected the misunderstanding.
the Bidding was very spirited. I passed only the first 500 lots, but it was understandable. Compared with the previous sale of the impression that sold 80 percent (this is often misleading, so you need to double-check).
Recorded only the results, and by the end of the third hour, I was filled with both sides sheet of A4 slim numbers. From a total of 500 lots, I recorded almost half of the results. But the "Gelos" is a feature that a number of them later in the report will be published with a note PDR — not reached the reserve price.
the Sales were in the hall, but the majority of lots left by absentee bids. The auctioneer often say "thanks, Internet".
Great fun for the audience was "simple string" — the sale of books from the start of class, "three books for $ 100". Its all sold out — auctioneer struggled with a hammer as the racket, ping-понга. With a hundred rubles hall used to start up and to 1200, and even 2000. And if $ 100 was not a descent of interest, the auctioneer Alex quickly set starting at 1 ruble, and still all swept away. It is therefore clear that the best and worst sold. Most books on architecture, went to one buyer. And the art books you could buy a lot. For example, lot 82 — severely battered edition of Kazimir Malevich, "From Cezanne to Suprematism" 1920 — was sold for 2 000 rubles. As a collector's edition is probably not interested, and for industrial purposes — quite. Or lot 105 — "the Art of Marc Chagall", book in 1918, sold for 5500 roubles, — at least a good gift. A really modern art albums 1990-х, which the store will not find, went and did a ridiculous amount of money — 300-500 rubles. Probably the most expensive book in the auction was lot 103 — Chamberlin, G. S. "Jews, their origin and the causes of their influence in Europe": 20 000 rubles for the publication in 1910. The collected works of Lermontov with a rate of 38 000 has not reached the reserve. And the cheapest book sold for 50 rubles.
