About the early years practically no information. From a Jewish family; in his youth he left Russia. He studied at the Vienna Academy of fine arts (1915-1922), where he made his debut at the exhibitions. In 1923 he moved to Berlin, then — in Paris; in 1929 he received French citizenship. Was friends with С. Грановским, М. Стерлингом, Л. М. Козинцевой.

Drew for the newspaper "Le Petit Parisien", "L Intransigeant", "France Soir". Worked as an artist book. He was engaged in lithography, woodcut, monotype. Performed prints for bibliophile editions: albums "Great musicians", "the Suburbs of Paris", "Paris clown". In 1963 he executed lithographs to the book "Île de France".
