From an Albanian princely family Geek (Ghika), whose members were the rulers of Moldavia and Wallachia. Received an excellent education at home; traveled: traveled to Switzerland, France, Ireland, Greece, USA. In 1849 she married a Russian officer Prince А. А. Кольцова-Мосальского and settled in Russia. He took private lessons of painting and drawing in Dresden, Vienna, Venice, Berlin. He painted landscapes. Exhibited at the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of arts. The last years of his life were spent in Florence.

Engaged in literary work under the pseudonym of Countess Dora D Istria, social engagement. Honorary member of the Athens archaeological society, a member of the national Academy of arts of Barcelona, the Institute of archaeology of Buenos-Айреса and other societies.
