In the mid 1870-х studied at the Kyiv drawing school, then — in the Imperial Academy of arts in St. Petersburg. In 1877 received a certificate for teaching drawing in secondary schools. In 1882 he was awarded a small silver medal for the painting "farm after the rain".

Lived in Odessa (?); on-видимому, periodically visited St. Petersburg. Worked primarily as a landscape painter. Author paintings: "Bank of Lysohora" (1885; 1-я prize at the competition of the Society for the encouragement of artists), "River Desna", "grandfather's house", "Early morning", "the Mill in the evening", "View from the mountain at noon", "The sea," "Crimean view" (all — 1880-е), "Last ray (Beginning of winter)", "After the rain" (1890-е).
