he Graduated from gymnasium in Kiev. He studied at the Imperial Academy of arts (1878-1888) П. П. Чистякова, М. П. Клодта, В. В. Верещагина. For student work received four small (1882 — landscape, 1884 — drawings, 1886 — landscape oil paintings) and a large silver (1886 — landscape) coin. In 1887 за the program "view of the water mill" based on the novel Н. В. Гоголя "Sorochinskaya fair" was awarded a small gold medal. In 1888 выпущен from the Academy with the rank of class artist 1-й degree "in painting a landscape".

he Lived in Kiev. He painted mainly landscapes of the southern Russian in a simple realistic manner; in 1900-х was influenced by art Nouveau and impressionism.

the Author of painting works: "Night" (1884), "Dead mill" (1885), "summer day in little Russia" (1886), "View from the surroundings of Kiev" (1887), "In the forest" (1888), "morning in the forest" (1891), "Indian summer" (1898), "the Last chord" (1907).

In 1893 he was awarded the title of academician.

In 1921 эмигрировал; since 1924 жил in Poland.

From 1887 — participated in exhibitions. Exhibited at the Imperial Academy of arts (1887-1898, with breaks) in St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, the society for the encouragement of artists in St. Petersburg (1885-1889), 11-й exhibition of paintings in Moscow (1903), the exhibitions of the "Art salon" (1914), the Kiev Association of artists (1918) in Kiev, the society for the encouragement of fine arts in Warsaw (1900-1904, 1913-1914, 1925, 1928).

he Taught at a private school-студии in Kiev (1894-1917; in 1917 преобразована in the Polish school of fine arts), the Lyceum in Kremenets (1924-1932).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the State Russian Museum, Omsk regional Museum of fine arts. М. А. Врубеля National art Museum of Ukraine in Kiev, Poltava art Museum and others.
