he Studied at MUZHVZ (1892-1903) И. И. Левитана. In 1899 получил silver medal, 1903 выпущен with the title of the class artist. He continued his education at the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture under the Imperial Academy of arts (1903-1910), workshop А. А. Киселева. In 1910, for the painting "the Old days" was awarded the title of artist. In the same year received the prize brothers И. И. and С. И. Ендогуровых awarded "best of landscape".

In 1910-1912 — pensioner of the iakh; visited Rome, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam and other cities.

Lived in St. Petersburg — Petrograd. Worked primarily as a landscape painter; in his work developed the theme of lyrical landscape. Used Impressionists, seeking atudot, a broad smear. Author paintings: "Twilight", "evening", "Autumn", "Garden", "Village street", "the first storm", "Spring" (all — 1900-е), "Sheet opal", "the Pskov Area", "Catherine the great", "the Piazza Barberini. Rome", "Sorrento", "Old Munich", "Aventine hill", "Evening in Holland", "Calm", "Meeting" (1910-е). For the painting "Last snow" and "Breath of spring" were awarded prizes А. И. Кунджи (1908, 1913), for the painting "Rome" — honorable mention the Imperial Academy of arts (1912).

Performed a number of portraits (wife, self); has created portraits-карикатуры Amateur actors of the play "the government Inspector" Н. В. Гоголя: О. И. Дымова in the role of tavern servants, К. С. Баранцевича in the role of Strawberries, Ф. Ф. Фидлера in the role of a district doctor of Genera (all — 1906); portraits-шаржи Director of the Theater of farce В. А. Казанского and the artist of the same theatre А. С. Полонского. Painted for the St. Petersburg magazine "summer lightnings" (1906), "lights out" (1906).

From 1896 — participant of exhibitions (19-я student's, MUZHVZ). He exhibited at the exhibitions of Moscow Association of artists (1897, 1902), academic exhibitions (1908-1913, with interruptions), the society of independent (1911, 1912), the international art exhibition in Munich (1911). Posthumous exhibition of the artist was in 1914 в Petrograd.

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the State Russian Museum, Science-исследовательском Museum of the Russian Academy of arts, and others.
