he Lived in Petrograd — Leningrad. About 1925 moved closer to П. Н. Филоновым; in 1926-1930 член group П. Н. Филонова "MAI" ("masters of analytical art"). Participated in exhibitions MAI in the printing-House (1927) and the House of culture of Moscow-Нарвского district (1928/1929) in Leningrad; was one of the initiators of the schism MAI and in 1930 left the band.

In 1926 — 1930-х he worked primarily as a designer of exhibitions, in particular was involved in designing the Soviet pavilion at the world exhibition in Paris (1937) and pavilions VSHV (1939). Created a series of anti-religious and satirical drawings (1929-1931).

Since the late 1930-х until 1960-х worked as a theater artist. In 1935-1936 he was an assistant Э. Гарина in the film "Marriage" in Comedy Н. В. Гоголя.
