son of a craftsman, a native of Italy, a native of Bologna, the elder brother of the painter AA Rizzoni.

original artistic skills was in Riga at the artist's Schmidt. He studied at the IAH (1839-1847) as volnoslushayuschego student in the class of historical painting by Markov in 1843 - a battle-painting class at AI Sauerweid. In 1842, for the painting "Woman with vegetables" was awarded a small silver medal in 1844 for his film "Dice" - a large silver medal. In 1845, for the painting "an internal Russian inn" received a small gold medal and title of the class artist for painting domestic scenes. In 1847, for the painting "little market" has been awarded a large gold medal with a pensioner's right to travel abroad for six years.

In 1848-1849 - pensioner IAH in Germany, Holland, Belgium, in 1850-1853 - a pensioner IAH in Russia. In 1861-1866 served as a teacher of drawing at the Mariinsky, the Ascension and the Alexander girls' high school, gave private lessons in painting and drawing.
