he Studied at the Kharkov art Institute (1924-1929) А. А. Кокеля, С. М. Прохорова, М. А. Шаронова. In 1929 the diploma work — "Players".

he Lived in Kharkov. Created portraits, landscapes, still lifes, themed paintings and compositions on historical subjects; was engaged in lithography. Author paintings: "self Portrait" (1927), "blast Furnace" (1932), "portrait of the artist Н. С. Самокиша" (1936), "Zhukovsky at the bedside of a wounded Pushkin" (1937), "Pioneer" (1945), "On farm pier" (1958); graphic series: "Т. Г. Шевченко in the Peter and Paul fortress" (1937, lithograph), "8-я guards division. General И. В. Панфилова" (1943, pencil), "В. И. Ленин" (1957-1964 it, charcoal, pencil, gouache).

From 1927 — participant of exhibitions (Kharkov art College). A member of the OSMA (the Society of contemporary artists of Ukraine, 1929-1931). He exposed his works on Ukrainian art exhibitions (1929, 1931, 1932, 1935) in Kyiv and Kharkiv, the exhibition "Art of Soviet Ukraine" (1936), the jubilee exhibition artists of the USSR. 1917-1937 (1938) in Kharkov, Shevchenko jubilee exhibition (1939) in Kiev, exhibitions "Stalin and the people of the Soviet Union in art" (1939), the best works of Soviet artists (1941), all-Union art exhibitions (1957, 1961) in Moscow the all-Union exhibition of prints (1959) in Leningrad and others. Participant of exhibitions of Soviet art in Poland (1959), East Germany (1960), Austria (1963). His personal exhibitions were held in Kharkov (1934, 1952).

he Taught at the Kharkiv art Institute (1929-1941, 1943); Professor (1960). The honored worker of arts of the USSR (1970).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including at the National art Museum of Ukraine, Kiev Museum of Russian art, the Kharkov art Museum, National Museum. А. Шептицкого in Lviv and other.
