son of the artist Ivan Bilibin and his wife, artist M. J. Chambers-Bilibino (1874-1962), of British origin. Being deaf since birth, in 1914, was sent to Switzerland, where he received an opportunity to study at the school for the deaf, learned to lip read English and Russian speech. Visiting the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, Bilibin studied with Charles Sims, E. Jackson, W. Sikkerta and A. Mc Evoi.

Since 1927 studied drawing under the guidance of his father, who left Russia after the Revolution of 1917, and helped to work on sketches of the painting of the Russian Orthodox church in Prague.

served as set designer orders of various companies, in particular, worked with ballet MM Mordkin. In 1941, performed sketches of scenery for the play from a story by Poe's "Masque of the Red Death" (staging not performed). Worked Bilibin and under orders of the British film companies.

In 1936, when his father returned to the USSR, Bilibin remain abroad. In 1935, 1937, he successfully exhibited his paintings in the British Royal Academy, and participated in exhibitions of "London Group" and integration Artistes Silencieux in Brussels.

Bilibin was a member of the Royal Society of watercolor painter, a life member of the Art club Chelsea and annually participated in the design of Christmas balls (painted high heel) in the Royal Albert Hall.
