from family teacher. He studied at the IAH (1868-1878), first as an auditor, from 1869 - a permanent student. In 1870, due to the success of students received a lump sum payment. In 1872, a sketch, in 1875 for the drawing, in 1876 for the small landscape sketches awarded silver medals, in 1877 for landscape sketch - a large silver medal. Released from the Academy with the title of class artist of the 3rd degree.

worked as a landscape painter, genre painter. He participated with his works in a lottery at the annual meeting of Society for the Promotion of Artists (1877, 1878, 1886, 1887).

works are in several museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, Chuvash State Art Museum in Cheboksary.
