he Studied at the Imperial Academy of arts (1887-1893), in the class of battle painting. In 1891 and 1892 he was awarded honorable mention medals. In 1893 he received the title neklassnogo (free) artist. In 1898-1899 в as a student he attended classes at the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture under the Imperial Academy of arts, where he studied engraving under the guidance of В. В. Матэ; in 1899 he was awarded the title of artist-гравера.

he Worked as a portraitist; in 1900-х executed engraved portraits Б. П. Виллевальде, П. К. Клодта, Ф. И. Прянишникова, Н. И. Уткина, П. И. Чайковского, П. П. Чистякова, Т. Г. Шевченко; song "Transport of millstone", "Administration of war" and others.

the Works were exhibited at the world exhibition in Rome (1911).

From 1906 — inspector of the School of drawing at vhu; in 1911 was awarded the title of academician.
