studied at the Art Academy in Dresden (1838-1842) in E.-YU.-F. Bendemanna, then in Munich in G. Shnorra von Karolsfelda and B. Kaulbach (1843-1844). In August 1847, visited Rome.

From 1847 to 1857 he worked in Russia. Lived in Moscow. He worked as a portraitist, he painted in the historical and social themes. Engaged in lithography. He participated in exhibitions in the halls of IAH. From 1860 - an honorary associate of the Academy free IAH.

In 1857-1859 he studied in Paris at TV Couturat. In 1860 he moved to Dusseldorf, where he began teaching. Honorary member of the Vienna and Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Father landscape painter Herman Lasha.
