he Lived in Kharkov, Moscow (1932). Worked in the field of easel, magazine and applied graphics. Painted for the Kharkiv journal "I" (1920-е); of the magazine "Crocodile" (1932-1933), Newspapers — "Komsomolskaya Pravda" (1934), "the Truth" (1956). Created graphic series: "Vasya tyorkin" (1940; together with В. И. Фомичевым), "Postwar Europe" (1940), "Constant companions" (1952), "the proletariat in the struggle" (1969); posters: "you're warmongers" (1949), "a Lesson to the enemies" (1952), "Military taxes" (1958), "the American way of life" (1960), "Great chemistry will create" (1964), "Lenin" (1970), "Unity is power! Victory in the fight!" (1976) and others. Collaborated in the Stand; illustrated books: "In America," "My universities" А. М. Горького (1949), "Stories" М. Твена (1957), "the Frightened prophets" Ю. А. Чаплыгина (1959). Was artistic Director of the poster edition of the publishing house "art".

From 1926 — participated in exhibitions. Exhibited: Ukrainian book graphics in Kharkov (1929), Exhibition-смотр of young artists (1936), all-Union art exhibitions (1949, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1961, 1965, 1967), Exhibition of Soviet posters (1950), Exhibition of works by artists of satire (1954), Exhibition poster (1957), "Poster and satire 40 лет in the works of Moscow artists" 1958), "Soviet Russia" (1960) in Moscow and others. His personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1958, 1965, 1968), Belgorod (1968).

In 1970 на the international exhibition "Satire in the struggle for peace" in Moscow received the gold medal of the Soviet peace Fund. He was awarded the title of honored artist of the RSFSR (1967).
