Studied at the Central Stroganov school of technical drawing (Central Stroganov-промышленном College; 1901-1912) И. В. Жолтовского, С. В. Ноаковского, Д. А. Щербиновского. In 1911 he received the title of the artist 1-й degree in applied art, in the same year — gold medal with the right to travel abroad. In 1913, sent to Florence for "improvements in the chosen craft."

Traveled to Italy, Greece, Turkey (1909-1911, 1914). Engaged in applied and industrial graphics (covers of calendars, travel guides, commemorative address), scenography. Designed the productions of the Moscow literary-художественного circle theatre-кабаре "die Fledermaus" (1910). He performed sketches of costumes and scenery for productions of "the Storm", "plum" А. Н. Островского (1918-1919), "the Thieves" Ф. Шиллера "Power of darkness" Л. Н. Толстого (1918-1919) in Sretensky district theater in Moscow, "Boris Godunov" М. П. Мусоргского (1948) at the Bolshoi theatre. Completed the design of the ballet "Sleeping beauty" П. И. Чайковского (1946, the film was not produced).

participated in the exhibition "800 лет Moscow. Moscow in the works of artists" (1947), 3-й exhibition of watercolours by Moscow artists (1957). His personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1946, 1969, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1977).
