the First skills in painting and drawing was under the guidance of his grandfather of the artist А. Радля. Shtedelevskom studied at the art Institute in Frankfurt in E. von Steinle and Я. Беккера.

he Lived in Frankfurt. Traveled to Bavaria and the Alps. Together with Eduard von Steinle paintings created in the Museum Wallraf-Рихартц in Cologne; has served as the scenery for Frankfurt Opera.

From 1867 regularly came to Russia; he lived and worked in Smolensk province, where he stayed in the house of painter С. А. Барышникова and in Ukraine. Wrote genre scenes from village life. For the love of Russia was nicknamed "Beer Russen" ("Russian bear").
