KUKRYNIKSY — creative Union of artists М. В. Куприянова, П. Н. Крылова, Н. А. Соколова (using the first syllables of the surnames), formed in the Moscow VKhUTEMAS in the first half of 1920-х. From 1922 Kupriyanov and Krylov worked in the wall newspaper of VKhUTEMAS, signing his works as "Kukry" and "Crackup". In 1924 joined the falcons. Was engaged in satirical graphics, political caricature, poster, book illustration; above in easel painting and graphics (portrait and landscape) each worked individually.

Under the pseudonym Kukryniksy artists collaborated in the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda", "Literaturnaya Gazeta", "Pravda", "Krasnaya Zvezda", the magazines "Spotlight", "Crocodile", "Smeac", "Change". He drew a series of cartoons of "Transport" (1933-1934), "warmongers" (1953-1957), "On bullshit" (1959-1960). During the great Patriotic war he worked in the "Windows TASS"; created the posters: "Ruthlessly defeat and destroy the enemy!" (1941, 1942 State prize), "one good turn deserves another" (1941), "a lie thrower" (1942), "Two pot", "History with geography" (both — 1944) and others.

Illustrated the works of И. А. Ильфа and Е. П. Петрова (1933, 1967, 1971), М. Е. Салтыкова-Щедрина (1939), А. П. Чехова (1940-1946, State prize 1947), the book "the Life of Klim Samgin" (1933), "Foma Gordeev" (1948-1949, 1950 State award), "Mother" (1950, State prize, 1951) М. Горького, "don-Кихот" by M. de Cervantes (1949-1952), and others. He performed sketches of costumes and scenery for the Comedy В. В. Маяковского the "Bug" in the Theater В. Э. Мейерхольда (1929).

In collaboration performed also a number of beautiful works: the series "Old masters" (1936-1937), paintings, "the Flight of fascists from Novgorod" (1944-1946), "the End" (1947-1948, the State prize, 1949), "the Prosecution (War criminals and their defenders at the Nuremberg trials)" (1967). Were awarded the Lenin prize (1965).

the Team participated in exhibitions: "the End of the theatrical season of Moscow 1928-1929 года" (1929), "anti-imperialist exhibition dedicated to international red day" (1931), "Poster at the service of the five-year plan", "Caricature in the service of socialist construction" (both — 1932) in Moscow, "Socialist art today" (1930) in Amsterdam, "book Art" in Paris and Lyon (1931-1932), and others. In 2008, Moscow hosted a retrospective exhibition of Kukryniksy.

the Works are in many Museum collections, including the State Tretyakov gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина and others.
