Brailovskaya (Brailovskaya; nee Schmidt) Rimma Nikitichna

general's daughter. She was raised and educated in Dorpat. In 1898 she married artist LM Brailovskiy and settled in Moscow. Worked both independently and in collaboration with her husband. Painted landscapes, genre scenes, the technicians turned to watercolors and tempera. In 1900-1910-X performed a series of watercolors based on fairy tales of Alexander Pushkin ( "The Tale of the Dead Princess ...", 1907, "The Tale of Tsar Saltan ...", 1915).

She studied arts and crafts. Created a number of works in the techniques of embroidery, applique, painting, performed tapestries and decorative panels. Supposedly, in 1900 she taught in the workshop of fine needle in central Stroganov School of Industrial Art. In her drawings of students of the school were implemented numerous curtains, wall panels. Organized his own atelier in Hludovskom impasse in Moscow, where taking orders for artistic embroidery. In his works he acted as a skilled stylist, a masterly reworking ancient motifs and folk art.

Participated in exhibitions of the Society of Russian watercolors (1899, 1902-1905), the Moscow Association of Artists (1909, 1912, 1913, 1915, 1916), the New Society of Artists (1909-1915), "Free Creativity "(1915, 1916).

In 1918 she emigrated with her husband, lived in Constantinople, Belgrade, since 1925 - in Rome. Co-authored with her husband fulfilled a series of paintings "Visions of the old Russia" (1920-1930-e). Help the spouses in the creation of the Museum of Russian religious architecture in the Congregation for Oriental Churches in the Vatican. In 1920-1940-X participated in many exhibitions in various European cities: Rome, Paris, Milan, London, Amsterdam, The Hague, Munich, Budapest, New York. Has solo exhibitions (with Brailovskiy) in Paris (1930) and the Vatican (1932).

Brailovskiy works are in several museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Russian religious architecture in the Congregation for Oriental Churches in the Vatican and others.
