the Son of Pyotr Konchalovsky, a cousin of Tatiana konchalovskaya, grandson of Vasily Surikov. He studied under his father, then in the Free Academy de La Grande chaumière in Paris (1924) and the Moscow Vhuteine (1924-1929) А. А. Осмеркина, И. И. Машкова; in 1929 выполнил thesis — picture "Volleyball".

he Lived in Moscow. He painted mainly landscapes and still lifes. Worked with his father during joint visits to Novgorod (1926-1928), the Caucasus (1927, 1931), in the Crimea (1929), Murmansk (1936), Krasnoyarsk (1951); on the whole creative period was under the strong influence of the painting style of his father (there is the problem of the separation of their work, especially 1940-50-х years).

In 1986 for his still lifes of the late 1970-х — 1980-х was awarded the State prize of the RSFSR. И. Е. Репина.

Performed a landscape: "Venice" (1924), "Ilmen-озеро" (1928), "Kakheti. Sighnaghi" (1939), "Hoar-Frost" (1942), "Moscow. Spring" (1943), "Nikita garden. Crimea" (1952), "Suzdal. Museum" (1961), "Pskov Kremlin" (1963), "Rome" (1968), "Linen Factory" (1974). The author of a number of genre paintings ("the Horses at noon", 1938; "Shoeing horses. The Caucasus", 1939; "Evening in the village", 1958) and portraits (Ю. Кастедо, wife — Э. Родригес, А. И. Хачатуряна). Many worked in watercolor; in 1978 for the watercolor "Toledo. Spain" awarded the diploma of the Moscow Union of artists.

From 1926 — participant of exhibitions (4-я Rzhevskaya art exhibition). Member of the USSR Union of artists (from 1932). Exhibited: young artists in Moscow (1934), all-Union exhibition of young artists dedicated to the 20-летию the Komsomol (1939), "Young artists of the RSFSR" (1941), "the Landscape of our country" (1942), all-Union art exhibitions (1946, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1967, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1976, 1981, 1982, 1986), exhibition of works by Moscow artists (1960, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1987) in Moscow, Republican exhibition "Soviet Russia" (1960, 1965, 1967, 1970, 1974, 1975, 1980, 1985) in Moscow, Leningrad and other. The participant of foreign exhibitions in Havana (1974), Sofia (1978), Prague (1979). His personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1947, 1961).

In 1970 he was awarded the title of honored artist of the RSFSR.

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the State Russian Museum, State historical Museum, art gallery and art museums of Tambov, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Yaroslavl and others.
