graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Novorossiysk. Until 1914, worked on art courses in Odessa. It has since 1909 worked as a cartoonist in the Odessa newspapers.

In 1916 he arrived in Petrograd, where he continued to draw cartoons for the satirical and comic journals (for example, for the magazine "New Satyricon »).

In the 1920 - 1930 worked in the field of book graphics.
