Youth held in Odessa. He studied in Vienna and Paris in A.-V. Bouguereau. In early 1910-s he moved to Paris.

Engaged in easel painting, a caricature. He turned to etching (etching, lithography), worked in pastels. Exhibited his work in the salons of Independent and draftsman, cartoonists. Participated in the Russian exhibition at the gallery "Devambez" (1912). Held a solo exhibition in England (1936). He was one of the first teachers of Art Academy "Bezalel" in Jerusalem

During the First World War he moved to the U.S. in 1920 and settled in Palestine. In 1924, together with Leonid Pasternak, S. Raskin, A. Feder has participated in the Palestinian historical and ethnographic expedition organized by the Parisian publisher A. E. Cogan. According sketches made during the expedition, carried out several hundred illustrations for the Bible (Jerusalem, 1924 and 1926). Created graphic albums "Jug of Tears" (1926), on the situation of Jewish children in Russia, and "Jerusalem" (1930).

creativity of the artist is represented in several museum collections, including those in the Luxembourg Museum in Paris.
