Biographical information about the artist is extremely scarce. General education in the St. Petersburg College St. Peter and Paul. Simultaneously studied drawing and painting in the studio AO Charlemagne. In 1867, he joined the IAH in St. Petersburg, but the full course of study is not finished. In 1870 he moved to Munich, where he continued his education under the guidance of professors Munich Academy of Fine Arts, in particular V. Ditsa. Lived and worked in Munich.
