From 1941 he lived in Moscow. In 1947-1951 he studied at the Art School at Mosfilm, and later studied at various art studios, including studios E. Belutin.

In 1954-1972 worked as a painter and decorator at the works of decorative art in Moscow, where he focused on the development of logos, poster series, etc. that began in 1958, participated in the famous exhibitions 1960-1970 :

1962 - exhibition of paintings of studio Belutin B. Communist Street. (Taganka ") with E. Unknown, Y. Sobolev-Noleva, Yu Sooster, V. Yankylevsky (Moscow);

1974 - Exhibition at the Grand Georgian in Moscow;

1975 - Exhibition of works by Moscow artists in the pavilion "Culture House" (VDNH, Moscow) and others.

Spindler was by nature rather reserved man, and rarely participated in high-profile campaigns.

Since the 1980 was the exhibitor of many exhibitions at home and abroad: "Drawings of Moscow Artists" (Central House of Artists, Moscow, 1988), "Treasures in the mud" (Art Museum, Tampere, Finland, 1990), "Other Art" (The State Tretyakov Gallery, 1990), "Postmodernism and national traditions" (The State Tretyakov Gallery, 1993), "Non-conformists - the second Russian Avant-Garde 1955-1988. In 1996, Spindler solo exhibition was held at the State Tretyakov Gallery.

He had his own philosophy of creativity - from the use of coarse burlap as a basis for painting and handmade inks and finishing obligatory presence in the film characters cross and circle. The main and probably the most valuable manner in the works Spindler 1960-1980-x are abstract, often with religious symbols. One of the favorite themes of the artist was a circus.
