Potapova arrived in Moscow in 1917. About a year she studied at the University Shanyavsky. In 1920, met her future husband - an artist EL Kropyvnytskyi - and under his leadership became involved in painting and graphics.

Potapova From 1923 she studied painting in the workshops II Mashkova, VR Eiges. In 1938 she graduated from the department of fine arts in the Pedagogical School Mosgorono. Since 1934 he has taught and participated in exhibitions of artists-teachers. She worked as a painter and decorator in 1941-1957.
