Studied in Moscow for a trial-подготовительном Department of VKhUTEMAS (1922), then in the graphical Department of the VKhUTEMAS — Vhuteina (1922-1929) П. В. Митурича, Н. Н. Купреянова, Д. С. Моора. In 1929 the diploma work — poster "Join the farm!" and a series of autolithographs "For Soviet power!".

he Lived in Moscow. Did the poster; worked in the technique of lithography. Performed thematic compositions, portraits, landscapes, still lifes.

At the beginning of the great Patriotic war, worked in "Windows of TASS" (1941-1942). In 1942 he was called up for military service, aimed at 1-й Byelorussian front (1942-1945); participated in the defense of Moscow, Stalingrad, the capture of Warsaw and Berlin; has performed an extensive series of front-line sketches (portraits, landscapes).

Since 1922 — participant of exhibitions (1-я Russian art exhibition in Berlin). Member of akhr (1929), MSH (1932). Participated in exhibitions: "exhibition of graphics" (1926), "Poster at the service of five" (1932), young artists to the conference of the Komsomol of the Dzerzhinsky district (1936), "the Landscape of our country" (1942), painting, graphics and sculpture artists-фронтовиков (1946), Moscow artists (1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, 1960, 1962), All-Union art exhibitions (1957 — on the 40-летию October revolution; 1958 — on the 40-летию the Komsomol), "15 лет since the victory of the" (1961), "Moscow Artists — 50-летию October" in Moscow; "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" in Leningrad and Moscow (1932-1933) and others. Held a personal exhibition in Moscow (1973).

he Taught painting and drawing at the Moscow art school (since 1939); among students В. И. Иванов, Б. А. Диодоров. Honored worker of culture of the RSFSR (from 1968).

a Memorial exhibition was held in Moscow (2007; joint Н. И. Андриякой).

Work is represented in several Museum collections, including the State Tretyakov gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина and others.
