From the family of the employee. Childhood years spent in Mogilev-на-Днепре. In 1920 began working as a draftsman-оформителем in decorative workshops of the political Department of the army (later — Krasnoarmeysky University 16-й army); at the same time the red army was engaged in the art Studio under the guidance of artist М.
